Too cloudy for good SDI winds. The cloud was thin enough that some wind info got through, particularly later in the run. But the wind fields are generally weak and confused, indicative of cloud. Temperatures are fine...great actually. I worked on the SDI all afternoon. Main jobs were re-mounting the filter away from the intensifier housing (so it does not get so cold), decrease intensifier gain but now Updated, 05-01-98, 06:00 UT, MPK. integrate 3 video frames (rather than 2) per etalon step, and lots of focus and parallelism tweaking. The results are more signal, less noise, and significantly narrower fringes. So despite weak emissions and cloud, I have really nice temperatures. No info about the variation across the sky of course - due to the cloud. But temporal variation should be good.
